And now, ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you, the Internet songstress, Charice Pempengco!
It's not that I'm such a turtle when it comes to the latest of today. Of course I've heard of Charice's instant celebrity status. I just don't become a fan that easily. haha
There are a lot of singing sensations out there but why Charice? Why not Regine Velasquez when in fact she has proven it already after winning the ASIA-PACIFIC that's why she is hailed as the Asia's Songbird. I think the reason is, though Charice didn't win any singing search (got beaten by Makisig) , she had wowed the Americans through youtube with her singing prowess at a very young age.
But will she retain her stardom or will she end up in stardoom?That is one of the question. I think it's a matter of not singing just one song " I Have Nothing" all over and over again (I know she know she shouldn't). And a matter of good management (because Charice's videos on youtube are starting to get unavailable because of ABS-CBN's complains over Harpo's copyright claims, I dunno how true that is). ABS-CBN wants their own video to be watched by many. hmm
Go go go Charice! We're proud of you! Itaas mo ang bandilang Pilipino! 'Wag lalaki ang ulo.

I don't know how you can't notice the big difference between the quality of Charice's and Regine's voice.Charice's voice is beautiful even if it is still raw while Regine uses a lot of techniques in her singing but hers is not as strong in quality. Be nice and wish Charice well.
When Regine won the title, Charice was only dreaming to be known in the Phil. The Judges from the Little big star is now in question why they didn't pick Charice as a winner. Are the judges are more smarter than David Foster, Oprah & Ellen? Or is this contest is fixed? Charice was become famous on the internet and not in the local TV show in the Philippine because pilipino mentality is that if you are not good looking you are not going to be popular. Yet, american and other foreign people don't look on this way. Thanks to Youtube we can now judge who is the better singer based on powerful voice and performance. And sorry to say , that is Charice.
